 Are you looking for a great way to meet people, learn about history, or build your resume? We are looking for Historical Interpreters (or docents), hosts, special events volunteers, and other volunteers to assist the staff in the daily operations of the Museum. Scheduling and time commitments are flexible. Our volunteers work as little as one day a month, or as much as once a week.
HISTORICAL INTERPRETERS:
Interpreters lead visitors on tours of the historic house by using conversation, demonstration and hands-on activities. They dress in period clothing and must be willing to learn about the Noah Webster, the house, and colonial history. They should also be willing to work closely with the public. Ongoing training is provided. |
HOSTS:
Museum hosts greet visitors, collect admission money, handle museum shop sales, and orient visitors to the museum prior to their tour. No experience is necessary to be a host or a historical interpreter; training is provided.
SPECIALTY VOLUNTEERS
Assist with all aspects of the historic house, including exhibition research, photography, historic gardening, working in the archives, sewing costumes and administrative support.
SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS
Help with special events in programs and sometimes dress in costume. Some opportunities include: The Rendezvous, Tours and more to come.

Provide educational and fun experiences for children, adults and families, learn more about local history and pioneer life, meet new people from all over the world, develop new skills, make new friends, Work a flexible schedule, Receive on-going support and training, Participate in events just for volunteers, .
