  • August 18, 1855 Dodge County's first school was established at the 2nd meeting of the newly formed County Commissioners. It was named the Watkins School in Milton Township.
  • 1858 19 districts had been formed with public money established by the County was 65 cents per pupil.
  • Soon there were 72 one room schools and larger schools in the villages of Claremont, Dodge Center, Hayfield, Kasson, Mantorville, West Concord and Wasioja.
  • In 1882 Anson Sperry was elected a County Superentendent of Schools for $60.00 per month. Anson visited on horseback or buggy every one of these school each year.
  • About 1956 the county one room schools were consolidated and the students went to the larger schools.
  • In 2007 there are three schools.
    • Hayfield
    • Kasson Mantorville
    • Triton (Claremont, Dodge Center and West Concord)
