Exploring the days of the Rural School" The school building on the Dodge County Historical grounds in Mantorville was a busy place in June.of 2003 - 2006. Students attended on one of the two weeks. The students
- wrote with quill pens
- performed a Melodrama
- made apple pies
- churned butter
- did recetations
- visited the museum
- decorated baskets for a picnic
- went fishing where they caught a lot of fish
- toured Wasioja or Mantorville
- and on the final day took a field trip to Wasioja or to the sites in Mantorville. On the last day they & their parents sat on the lawn on blankets and had lunch from their decorated baskets or lunch pails.
This has been a popular event for the 180 entering 2nd - 5th grades. |
